Yoga is the process of consciously connecting the breath, body and mind. Through regular practice we can learn more about ourselves, find ways to recognise and release difficult emotions as well as develop strength, flexibility and balance in body and mind.
Most courses I teach consist of 6-8 lessons which are weekly. Each 75 minute class will involve:
- Breath awareness and control (pranayama)
- Meditation
- A variety of physical postures (asanas)
- Flowing sequences of physical postures (vinyasas)
- Relaxation practice to finish
Each course has a theme. Here are some examples from previous courses: linking breath with movement; focus & intention; effort & ease; opening up...
Each class has a different emphasis whilst continuing to build on what you have learned before. This will give you an opportunity to notice your own personal development and to try out more challenging variations if you want to.

Who are these courses for?
Adults age 18 +. Yoga can help anyone to improve their wellbeing. You do not need your body or your mind to be a certain way in order to take part and benefit from a yoga practice. Courses are particularly well suited to beginners and those with some experience who would like to develop their practice. If you are new to yoga, or haven’t practiced for a while, a course can be a great way to gain a grounding in the different elements of yoga as well as to notice progression.

A range of options will be given for each physical posture and breathing practice so that anyone can take part. Meditation and relaxation practices will also be introduced with different options so that you can choose what’s best for you. I will ask you to complete a confidential health questionnaire and may discuss this with you so that I can do my best to safely modify the practice to suit your needs.
